Brian Baker

Brian A. Baker is a partner at Sorrels Law who handles complex business and personal injury litigation in state and federal courts and in private arbitration. His caseload has included catastrophic injuries, high-stakes contract disputes, oilfield disputes, fraud and fiduciary litigation, bankruptcy litigation, labor and employment disputes, and trade secret matters for clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. Before joining Sorrels Law he was managing partner of a Houston-area litigation firm that he joined straight out of law school, earning promotion to named partner in just three years. During law school he clerked for a federal judge in the Southern District of Texas.

He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2012, where he was an executive board member and Head Notes and Comments Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law, won the BP America Writing Award for an outstanding topic in international law, and completed a certificate in advanced domestic and international arbitration. He holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. A native Texan and lifelong Houstonian, he has been named a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star for six consecutive years, an honor given to fewer than 2.5 percent of Texas attorneys.
