Sara Hashmi

Sara Hashmi, PharmD, JD is a pharmacist-attorney on the Sorrels Law medical malpractice team with over fifteen years of experience as a pharmacist for a top international retail pharmacy, including several years in management. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, worked as a community pharmacist and later pharmacy manager in Texas, and served as a pharmacy consultant to outpatient centers on compliance, drug storage, and inventory issues. After ten years in pharmacy, and while continuing to practice, she attended South Texas College of Law Houston.

Where she received the CALI Award in two classes including Legal Research and Writing, was named to the Dean's Honor List, and joined the Phi Delta Phi legal honor fraternity. After law school she spent more than five years at one of the top medical malpractice insurance defense firms in Texas, defending doctors, healthcare providers, and institutions and handling medical record review, expert witness management, and trial development, and successfully defending providers before licensing boards. She has taught Pharmacy Law and Ethics as an instructor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and now represents plaintiffs in medical malpractice and injury cases.
