About W. Crawford Appleby IV

William Crawford Appleby IV is a partner at Wisner Baum's Los Angeles office, focusing on appeals, complex law and motion work, legal research and writing, and case strategy, with a concentration on transportation accidents, whistleblower cases, and qui tam claims. He contributes at both the trial and appellate level, drafting briefs and developing arguments in United States and foreign law. In 2019 Crawford launched rulings.law, a free searchable database of California state court tentative rulings built to level the playing field for litigants who cannot afford paid research tools.

Before joining the firm he spent more than two years as a law clerk at the Los Angeles Superior Court and externed for a federal judge in the Central District of California. His published wins include Jones v. Goodrich Pump & Engine Control Systems in the Second Circuit. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2013.
