About Laurel Simes

Laurel L. Simes is a founding partner of Levin Simes LLP and one of California's leading plaintiff trial lawyers, with more than 20 years spent protecting the rights of working men and women and their families. She specializes in rideshare assault, mesothelioma, and pharmaceutical cases, and holds the largest verdict in a California single-plaintiff mesothelioma case: in 2010 she and William Levin won the Evans case, the largest mesothelioma verdict in state history. She also secured one of the few successful verdicts against Lorillard Tobacco Company.

Her practice is known for intensive preparation of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, treating physicians, and experts for trial testimony, and she has handled thousands of cases across rideshare, asbestos, pharmaceutical, and medical device litigation. She has settled hundreds of mesothelioma cases and over a thousand pharmaceutical and other cases totaling in excess of $500 million. She has been named a Super Lawyer from 2011 through 2024 and is a member of the American Association for Justice.
