Richard Schoenberger

Richard H. Schoenberger is a Senior Trial Counsel and named partner at Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger (Walkup Personal Injury Lawyers) in San Francisco, with nearly 40 years of experience. He joined the firm in August 1987, became a partner in 1995, and was named partner in 2005. Throughout his career, he has obtained more than 30 eight-figure settlements and verdicts.

Schoenberger earned his Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in 1982 and his Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law.

He was inducted into the California Lawyers Association Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame in August 2024 and has been named Best Lawyers' "Lawyer of the Year" in 2016, 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2026. He has been continuously selected to Super Lawyers Northern California and has been named to the Lawdragon Top 500 Lawyers in America (2020-2022). He received the Don E. Bailey Award in December 2022.

His professional memberships include the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers (former Northern California State Committee Chair), the International Society of Barristers (Foundation Board member), the American Board of Trial Advocates (former San Francisco Chapter President), and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (Board Member).

Recent notable case results include a $26.3 million Yamaha verdict, a $24.5 million medical malpractice settlement, and a $16.1 million Sonoma County verdict.
