Owen Stephens

Owen P. Stephens is the Mass Torts Counsel at Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger (Walkup Personal Injury Lawyers) in San Francisco, where he focuses on mass torts and California wildfire litigation. He has settled hundreds of claims and helps clients evaluate offers from the Fire Victim Trust.

Stephens joined the firm in April 2018. Before practicing law, he spent a decade working on public policy and social justice issues. He was appointed to the Treasure Island Development Authority Board in 2006 and served on the Transbay Joint Powers Authority Citizens Advisory Committee from 2019 to 2021.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law, specializing in environmental and public interest law, and served as Editor-In-Chief of the Golden Gate University Environmental Law Journal. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2016.

Stephens serves on the Board of the Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Club and as a Deputy Marriage Commissioner performing civil ceremonies.
