William Levin

William A. Levin is a founding partner of Levin Simes LLP and a leading trial lawyer in the toxic tort and products liability field who has tried over 100 cases. In 2010 he and partner Laurel Simes won a $208 million verdict in the Evans asbestos case, the largest single-plaintiff mesothelioma verdict in California history. Since founding the firm in 2002, he has held leadership roles in national litigation over asbestos, transvaginal mesh, Zyprexa, Vioxx, hip implants, denture cream, testosterone replacement therapy, and talcum powder, and served on the plaintiffs' negotiating team in the AMS mesh litigation, where eight months of settlement talks produced the classification model used in all AMS settlements. His practice centers on science, expert work, trials, and resolution strategy, and he has settled hundreds of mesothelioma cases and over a thousand pharmaceutical cases totaling more than $500 million. He is a member of the AAJ Leader's Forum and has been named a Super Lawyer from 2011 through 2024.
