Michael Kelly

Michael A. Kelly is the Managing Partner and a shareholder of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger (Walkup Personal Injury Lawyers) in San Francisco. He has practiced since 1976 — nearly five decades — focusing on personal injury law, product liability, and medical malpractice.

Kelly chose law over careers in medicine and the ministry because it seemed the best way to serve others and make a positive difference. Over the course of his career, he has noted that car crash cases made up the vast majority of his work in the 1970s, but auto-safety improvements have shifted his practice toward product liability matters involving defective consumer goods.

Kelly earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1976 and joined the firm that same year.
