Clifton Smoot

Clifton N. Smoot is an Associate Attorney at Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger (Walkup Personal Injury Lawyers) in San Francisco. His practice focuses on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases based on defective products, medical malpractice, sexual abuse, and dangerous conditions on residential, commercial, and municipal property.

Smoot graduated with honors from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law) in 2015.

He has been named to the Northern California Rising Stars List for Super Lawyers from 2017 through 2024. Recent case results include a $7.5 million resolution for a young man who fell through an unrestricted window on his state college campus and was paralyzed, a $12.3 million resolution for a young boy and his family based on a birth injury caused by doctors mismanaging his mother's blood pressure during pregnancy, and a confidential, policy-limits settlement for a bail enforcement officer who was bitten and knocked down by a German Shepherd.

Smoot is fluent in Spanish. He coaches the nationally renowned UC Law Trial Team and volunteers with the Miracle Baseball League of the San Francisco Peninsula.
