Gene Locks

Gene Locks is the founding and managing partner of Locks Law Firm, which he established in 1966 with offices in Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey. A pioneer in asbestos personal injury litigation since 1974, he has represented over 16,000 personal injury victims across more than 20 states. Federal Judge Jack B. Weinstein appointed him to the Management Committee overseeing Agent Orange Litigation, where he directed liability and medical aspects of what was at the time the largest class action settlement in history.

In the 1990s, he was named lead counsel in nationally coordinated asbestos cases, serving as co-lead counsel in MDL 875 (In re Asbestos Personal Injury Litigation), which resulted in over $10 billion paid to more than one million victims. He also served as co-lead negotiator in the Diet Drug (Fen-Phen) litigation (Brown v. American Home Products Corp., MDL 1203), resulting in a $3.75 billion settlement. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, the District of Columbia, and numerous federal courts.
