E. Lawrence (Larry) Vincent is a partner at Sorrels Law with over 35 years of courtroom experience spanning every level of state and federal courts. A native of Port Neches, Texas, he earned his B.B.A. with honors in Economics from Baylor University in 1984 and graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1987, where he was Managing Editor of the Texas Law Review and elected to the Order of the Coif. After law school he clerked for the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy on both the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
He began his career at Susman, Godfrey & McGowan in Houston in 1987, became a partner in the firm's Dallas office in 2000, and later joined Burns Charest LLP in 2016, becoming partner in 2024. His practice covers commercial litigation, securities and antitrust class actions, mass torts, multidistrict proceedings, and property rights disputes. He was appointed Co-Lead Counsel in the In re Upstream Addicks and Barker Flood Control Reservoirs litigation, representing thousands of Houston-area property owners in a landmark inverse condemnation case that produced a judgment against the United States, and represented plaintiffs in Devillier v. Texas, which reached the U.S. Supreme Court and resulted in a favorable ruling and remand for trial.
