Shalon Allen

Shalon Allen is a nurse-attorney at Sorrels Law who brings over 24 years of nursing experience to the firm's medical malpractice and personal injury teams. Before becoming a lawyer she was a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR), helped develop the national credential for Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM), and was recognized as a national nursing expert through consulting for major healthcare organizations, authoring nursing credential materials, and speaking at prominent nursing conferences. Her clinical and administrative background spans surgical services, endoscopy, sterile processing, anesthesia services, hospital administration, and regulatory healthcare compliance.

She completed law school while still practicing as a nurse, graduating cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law with a certification in healthcare compliance and four semesters on the Dean's List. She became a registered nurse through Lamar University in Beaumont in 2000, graduating magna cum laude, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing magna cum laude from American Sentinel University in 2015 as a Sigma Theta Tau honor society member. She was admitted to the Texas bar in 2024 and is a member of the American Association for Justice, the American Health Law Association, and the American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
