Sam Palermo

Sam Palermo is a partner at Sorrels Law and a native Houstonian who has practiced personal injury law for 38 years. He has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1993 and is a Life Member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He began his career with a two-year judicial clerkship for U.S. District Judge Ross N. Sterling in the Southern District of Texas, then joined Kronzer, Abraham & Watkins, where he worked with Texas personal injury pioneers W. James Kronzer, Frank Abraham, and Will Watkins and handled major national and international cases including the Piper Alpha platform disaster in the North Sea. It was there that he first tried cases with a young Randy Sorrels, beginning a professional relationship of more than three decades.

He was later recruited by John O'Quinn, serving as the O'Quinn Law Firm's lead attorney on the DB-29 and DLB-269 maritime disasters and handling refinery explosions and maritime cases worldwide. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of St. Thomas, earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston, and holds a summa cum laude graduate certificate in Hospital and Health Law from Seton Hall Law School. He has also served as Chief Compliance Officer and litigation counsel for a NYSE-traded healthcare company.
