About Michael Nimmo

Michael Nimmo is Senior Counsel at Wagstaff Law Firm and has represented injured people for the past 20 years, specializing in representing sexual abuse survivors throughout the country. He joined the firm after a partnership at Denver Trial Lawyers, bringing substantial courtroom and trial experience. A past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, where he also chaired the New Lawyer Committee and served on the Executive Committee, Legislative Committee, and Board of Directors, he currently co-chairs the American Association for Justice's Child Sexual Abuse Litigation Committee. In 2021 he took the lead in drafting and lobbying for Colorado's Child Sex Abuse Accountability Act, testifying before legislative committees and negotiating directly with the Governor's office on the bill, which opened claims for survivors of past abuse.

He has worked on numerous other pieces of legislation in Colorado and other states. Born and raised in small-town Oklahoma, he is part Native American and a member of the Chickasaw Nation, and followed his father, a practicing lawyer and judge in Oklahoma, into the law. He volunteers as a coach for the Kent Denver High School trial team.
