Kathryn Forgie

Kathryn M. Forgie is a partner at Wagstaff Law Firm, where she leads the firm's California office from Oakland and serves as its senior strategist on medical and scientific expert development. She spent twenty years on the defense side as lead and co-lead national counsel in large pharmaceutical litigations, including serving as lead national counsel for Bayer Aspirin in the Reye's Syndrome litigation, before moving to the plaintiffs' bar in 2010 and joining Andrus Wagstaff (now Wagstaff Law Firm) in 2013. In the Roundup litigation she identified, retained, and prepared the epidemiology, pathology, and IARC experts at the center of the case, presenting the first two critical witnesses at the nine-day Daubert hearing in the federal MDL; two of the experts she presented were among only three who passed the general causation test. Those experts testified in both the Hardeman trial, which produced an $80.2 million verdict, and the Pilliod trial, which produced a verdict of over $2 billion.

She was invited by members of the European Parliament to present in Brussels on the science linking Roundup to non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the Monsanto Papers. She was named among the Top 100 National Trial Lawyers in 2019 and 2020, shared the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association's Case of the Year for Hardeman, and was part of the Johnson trial team named Trial Team of the Year 2019. She began her career as an Assistant Attorney General for the Territory of Guam, practiced tax and international law in London, and continues to develop national experts in the paraquat and Parkinson's disease litigation. She is not licensed in Colorado.
