Benjamin Gillig

Benjamin Gillig is a Senior Associate at Wagstaff Law Firm, focusing on mass torts, class actions, and complex civil litigation, where he works on challenging cases and develops creative legal strategies for his clients. Before joining the firm, he founded a new enforcement unit for the Colorado False Claims Act at the Colorado Department of Law. His background also includes extensive defense-side experience at both a trial boutique and a large international law firm.

He began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Jane Kelly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Iowa Law Review, graduated with highest distinction, received faculty honors, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, where his research focused on education policy and quantitative analysis.
