About Don Downing

Don Downing has forty years of experience representing injured persons and businesses, with verdicts and settlements totaling over $3 billion. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, class actions, and mass tort actions. A native of Kennett, Missouri, Don has been appointed lead plaintiffs' counsel by multiple federal judges in cases involving defective seed, herbicide drift, and government loan program errors affecting tens of thousands of farmers. He has also represented thousands of injured parties in consumer fraud, health care overcharge, and defective product cases.

Don earned a B.S. in economics (cum laude) from the University of Missouri in 1979 and his J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1982, where he served as an editor on the Missouri Law Review. He clerked for Judge Edward L. Filippine of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and served as Missouri Chief Deputy Attorney General from 1993 to 1995. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and served as Chair of the University of Missouri Board of Curators. He holds a Chambers and Partners Band 1 rating.
