Jonathan George

Jonathan A. George is the Lead Attorney on Scientific and Expert Matters at Dean Omar Branham Shirley, LLP, with 35 years of experience representing workers and families diagnosed with mesothelioma and asbestos-related disease. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary in 1981 and his law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 1985, where he won the school's moot court competition and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. He began practicing in Newport News, Virginia in 1986, representing mesothelioma clients after reading Paul Brodeur's seminal work on the asbestos industry. He has been admitted in Virginia, Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and Washington, before the U.S. Supreme Court, and before multiple federal courts. His reported cases include Willis v. Raymark (905 F.2d 793, Fourth Circuit, 1990) and Sherman v. Hennessy Industries (California Court of Appeal, 2015).
