Beth Baldinger

Beth G. Baldinger is a member of Mazie Slater Katz & Freeman and has been nationally recognized for more than 25 years in crime victims' rights litigation. She earned her B.A. in Public Affairs, Energy and Environmental Sciences from the State University of New York at Albany in 1980 and her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985, where she was a contributor to the Inter-American Law Review and received the Judicial Intern Award from the Florida Bar Association. She also clerked for Chief Justice Gerald T. Wetherington of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Dade County, Florida. Baldinger is admitted in New Jersey (1986), New York (1986), the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Her practice covers civil litigation, professional malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights cases with a focus on crime victims including child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence survivors, and police misconduct.

She obtained a $10 million settlement in the Xavier Ingram police brutality case in 2022, described as the largest police brutality settlement in New Jersey history. Additional results include a $5 million DYFS negligence verdict and a $2.8 million wrongful death settlement for a high school football player who suffered a fatal concussion. The New Jersey Law Journal named her Attorney of the Year in 2023, and Forbes placed her on its America's Top 200 Lawyers list in 2024. She received the American Association for Justice Leonard Weinglass Award for Defense of Civil Liberties.
