About David Freeman

David M. Freeman is a member of Mazie Slater Katz & Freeman. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from Lehigh University in 1985 and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1988. Freeman concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, professional liability, products liability, personal injury, and insurance insolvency matters, and has handled significant cases across New Jersey state and federal courts. He obtained a $25.4 million verdict in a legal malpractice matter and has represented parties in multiple appellate cases involving insurance insolvency in the Integrity Insurance Company liquidation proceedings.

He has also litigated professional malpractice and environmental liability matters. Freeman has lectured on New Jersey dram shop and social host law. He has been selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers List in multiple years. He was born in Queens, New York on March 1, 1963.

A Bergen County jury ordered stadium concessionaire Aramark and drunk driver Daniel Lanzaro to pay roughly $135 million after Lanzaro, served beer at Giants Stadium despite visible intoxication, crashed into the Verni family's car and left their two-year-old daughter paralyzed from the neck down. The verdict was reversed on appeal in 2006, and the case settled in 2008 for $25 million in cash and annuities.
