James Binns

James J. Binns, known as Jimmy Binns, is special counsel at The Beasley Firm and an active Philadelphia trial attorney. He is licensed to practice in 20 states and admitted to the federal courts in each of them, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the courts of appeals in all eleven circuits, and the bar of the United States Supreme Court. He founded the Hero Plaque program honoring Philadelphia's fallen police officers and firefighters, and the Holiday Meals For Heroes program, which delivers dinners to the families of officers killed in the line of duty.

He is president and chief executive of the Hero Thrill Show, an annual fundraiser that pays for the education of the children of fallen police officers and firefighters. He is certified by the Northwestern University School of Public Safety as an instructor of highway patrol motorcycle police officers and currently serves as Deputy Chief of the Darby Township Police Department. He appeared on screen as Rocky's lawyer in Rocky V and as the Pennsylvania boxing commissioner in Rocky Balboa, and he speaks French, Italian, and Spanish.
