Marsha Santangelo

Marsha F. Santangelo is both a physician and a trial lawyer, and through trials and settlements she has obtained tens of millions of dollars for patients seriously injured or killed by medical malpractice, including dozens of million dollar and multimillion dollar recoveries. Her cases have covered obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, radiology, pathology, adult and pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, critical care medicine, anesthesia, emergency medicine, neonatology, cardiology, orthopedic and spine surgery, and medical device manufacturers, among many other specialties. Reported awards in her cases include $37 million, $15 million, $5.9 million, $3 million, and $2.8 million. She graduated summa cum laude from Villanova University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, received her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1985 in the top fifth of her class, and completed clinical training in general surgery.

She is licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania. She clerked at the firm during law school and joined as an attorney in 1992 after earning dual law and M.B.A. degrees from Villanova, where the law faculty selected her for the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association's James J. Manderino Award for Excellency in Trial Advocacy. She is a fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine and serves as an arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
