About Todd Michaels

Todd Michaels, a lifelong Miami-Dade resident, joined The Haggard Law Firm in 2009 and was named a partner in 2014. He handles wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases, with a practice centered on negligent security matters throughout Florida and nationwide, along with rideshare liability, premises liability, aviation, pool drowning, and auto accident cases. In 2019 he tried a medical malpractice wrongful death case that produced a 24.5 million dollar verdict in Broward County for the family of a mother of four who died from avoidable childbirth complications.

As lead counsel in Snell v. Family Food Saver, he won a 5.7 million dollar verdict, the largest premises liability verdict in Florida that year, and he has led numerous other trials producing eight figure verdicts. He is the immediate past president of the Florida Justice Association, has twice been named the Daily Business Review's Most Effective Lawyer, and has been named Best Lawyers in America's Lawyer of the Year for Miami-Dade County. Before joining the firm, he spent nearly five years as an assistant public defender, later serving as a felony training attorney and a federal public defender, and he has tried more than fifty cases in state and federal court.
