About William Andrew Haggard

William Andrew "Andy" Haggard was born and raised in Miami, graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1960, and has lived in Coral Gables for more than five decades. Since 1972 he has represented plaintiffs in nearly every kind of personal injury case and has tried more than 150 jury trials. He entered trial law after serving as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force, where he was the youngest military judge ever selected in the field of trial litigation, and he earlier served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. A member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the American Board of Trial Advocates, he received the Southern Trial Lawyers Association War Horse Award in 2015 and the Florida Justice Association's Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. He is a frequent continuing education speaker on trial techniques and chaired the Florida State University Board of Trustees from 2010 to 2012.
